John15FiveThe whole Bible.
On your phone. Offline.
John15Five is a local-first Bible app. The complete text is bundled on the device, so reading, listening and taking notes work with the network off — permanently, and free. What you write stays on your phone, encrypted.

The app is the trellis, not the vine.
A Bible app should get out of the way of the text. John15Five is built so that Scripture has the most space, the best typography and the highest contrast on every screen — and so the software around it never competes for attention.
Works with no signal, forever
The full Bible ships inside the app. Airplane mode is a first-class state, not a degraded one, and the core reading experience never requires a network or a payment.
No account, ever
Nothing to sign up for. No email, no password, no profile. Open the app and read.
Listen to any passage
Narration for the whole Bible, with read-along highlighting, adjustable speed, background playback and resume where you left off.
Reading plans that fit a real life
A curated library of plans, or describe what you are walking through and get one built for it. Miss a day and the app offers a door, not a scoreboard.
Study the words themselves
Tap any word for its original Greek or Hebrew, with Strong's numbers — without leaving the passage.
Notes and prayers stay yours
Journal entries, prayer lists and highlights are stored encrypted on your device. They are not synced to us and we cannot read them.
Where the AI stops
John15Five uses AI to help you find your way around Scripture — building a reading plan from a description, explaining a word, suggesting where to look next. It does not write Scripture.
The model never produces Bible text. It returns references, and the app resolves those against the bundled Bible and renders the canonical words. A reference that cannot be resolved is dropped rather than shown. This is enforced in code, not requested in a prompt, because a Bible app that paraphrases the Bible is not a Bible app.
It also does not settle disputed doctrine. Where faithful people disagree, it points to the text and to your pastor.
What we do not do
- No tracking of what you read. Not aggregated, not anonymised, not to improve the product. What you read is not our business.
- No ads. Not now, not later.
- Nothing paywalled between you and the text. If it is between a person and Scripture, it is free. Anything paid is convenience, never access.
Currently in private testing.
John15Five is being tested with a small group before public release. Full details, App Store availability and the complete privacy disclosure will be published here as launch approaches.
